Urban Farming is practiced in the rural area but a new experience in the urban areas. The main reason city dwellers say is lack of space and time. Looking closer, laziness is a lame excuse. You see them drinking, gambling or gossiping – all a waste of time. Decorative and flowering plants are everywhere and what if all these are used productively. What if the city introduces them to the importance of Urban Farming?
If city governments can spare time and money to learn Urban Farming methods and echo them to the populace, the benefits are limitless. Convert waste management and other environmental problems to cost effective methods and life saving systems is a plus factor and people will react. Vegetable patches on empty plots or pepper, eggplant or Okra plants on empty cans by home entrances can also be decorative and productive. If people can put extra time to cut peelings and use them as fertilizers, their garden will respond to the care. Urban Farming is an answer to the rising cost of food.
