Listening well, is a skill that will help you get by. You listen for instructions and thus know what to do. You listen to newscasts and thus know the latest news. You listen to commentators’ views and comments and thus find yourself forming your own opinions on current issues.
Every day of your life, there’s so much to listen to. Teachers explaining the lesson. Classmates discussing something or giving a report. School officials giving short talks during convocations. Speakers talking on topics that concern you.
If you know how to listen, and if you take the effort to listen, understand what is said and remember it, you will be the better for it. Good listening will help you acquire skills.
Remember this: listening attentively is a sign of good breeding. It is good sense as well.
